Source: Turkey aware of Russia's grain deal pessimism
ANKARA, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Turkey is aware of Russia's position that the grain deal has no prospects of prolongation and will continue joint efforts with the U.N. to solve the problems, a source with knowledge of the efforts and negotiations on the deal told PRIME on Tuesday.
"Yes, we are aware of it. The situation around this initiative is difficult, we are aware of the problems, we continue efforts with the U.N. to solve (the problems)," the source said.
Turkey is in negotiations on the removal of restrictions on Russian food and fertilizer exports, according to the official.
Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said on Monday that although Russia continued negotiations with representatives of the U.N. on the deal, it saw no prospects of its prolongation because of the non-fulfillment of some of its terms.
